About

Hello.

My name is Tim Booth.

Husband. Father. Son. Grandfather. Spiritual seeker. Christian. Friend.

I used to be a pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church and teacher at Trinity Academy in Hudson, Wisconsin. I retired in 2017 from those wild and crazy days (see the picture). Then I was an interim pastor at Joy Lutheran Church in Prescott, Wisconsin. Now I drive a hearse once in a while.

Otherwise I am really a boring person. Except for the hair and beard, which comes and goes. Quiet – some people think because I am always thinking. Not so. Mostly just because I can’t think of anything to say.

Which is strange really. In high school I had a lot to say – too much probably. Went to college where I learned a whole lot of things. Seminary poured in some more. Worked on a doctorate. Got quieter and quieter. The more I learned, the more I thought, the less I really knew – or knew that I knew.

So now I write here all that I know or think I know or just think. Hoping that you will add your thoughts and questions. Converse. Give me something to think about. Now that I am retired I need somebodies to talk to.

You will notice that most of what I have to share is about the Bible or God or how those apply to what else is going on in life. I don’t really know much more than that. I have had a lot of experiences, of course. Shared some with my kids. They said: Boring.

So I’ll stick to this here.  The Bible. God. The spiritual life. What does it mean? How does it apply – to me, to you? Along the way maybe we will wander into the economy or history or politics or parenting. Coming to understand our stories by coming to understand the Story, the story that informs all of our stories.
